Camp Ridge is a day use trailhead for Chadwick Motorcycle and ATV area. It is open year round, managed season from 4/15 thru 11/15. No overnight camping allowed – camping is available in the nearby Cobb Ridge Recreation Area. There are individual picnic areas with small parking areas for families and groups who wish to spend time in the recreation site, and some parking lots for those who are just coming to ride the trails. Picnicking: There are picnic tables and barbeque grills set in individual picnic sites. Facilities: There is no drinking water. A vault toilet is located near the site entrance. No trash containers; please pack out all your trash. For more information you can call Ava park ranger station at 1-417-683-4428. Trails: Most of the almost 80 miles of motorized trails stay on the ridge tops or hollow bottoms, with connecting trails crossing side slopes. Some trail sections offer greater challenge than others. These challenging trails are indicated on the Chadwick Area map by black diamond marker at the intersection where the trail begins. Please do not travel closed routes, or go off the trails. Only numbered trails are open for riding. Hill climbing is not allowed. Helmets are required for riders under 18, and recommended for all others. How to get here: From Chadwick, MO take Hwy 125 south 1.5 miles, then turn right onto Hwy H and continue to Camp Ridge Recreation Area. Open year-round.
